چکیده

Sampling plans, systems and schemes are used to accept/reject the lots when inspecting a series of lots. A sampling system is a grouping of two or more sampling plans with specified rules for switching between the plans for selecting the lots of finished products. Quick Switching System (QSS) is used to make accept or reject decisions when inspecting a series of lots. Quick Switching System require fewer samples for processes running at low levels of defects. QSS is a sampling system with reference to single sampling plan that involves normal and tightened plans by incorporating a switching rule. Quick Switching System can be applied to protect from poor quality and to reduce the cost of inspection. When the production process is monitored well, occurrence of defects in the manufactured products would be rare. The information related to number of defects will have more number of zeros. Under such circumstances, the appropriate probability distribution of the number of defects is a zero-inflated probability distribution rather than the usual probability distribution. A zero-inflated probability distribution (ZIPD) can be defined by a mixture of two distributions. The component distribution associated with the larger mixing proportion would be a distribution which degenerates at zero. In this paper, a study of QSS with reference to Single Sampling Plan using ZIPD is designed and tables are constructed for some set of values of (p1, α, p2, β). Comparison is made with the existing plan and its advantages are highlighted with example.

Assessment of length of stay in a general surgical unit using a zero-inflated generalized Poisson regression

Background: The effective use of limited health care resources is of prime importance. Assessing the length of stay (LOS) is especially important in organizing hospital services and health system. This study was conducted to identify predictors of LOS among patients who were admitted to a general surgical unit.    Methods: In this cross-sectional study, the sample included all patien...

Zero inflated Poisson and negative binomial regression models: application in education

Background: The number of failed courses and semesters in students are indicatorsof their performance. These amounts have zero inflated (ZI) distributions. Using ZI Poisson and negative binomial distributions we can model these count data to find the associated factors and estimate the parameters. This study aims at to investigate the important factors related to the educational performance of ...

مقایسه مدل شبکه عصبی مصنوعی با مدلهای رگرسیونی دادههای شمارشی در پیش بینی تعداد دفعات اهدای خون

Background: Modeling is one of the most important ways for explanation of relationship between dependent and independent response. Since data, related to number of blood donations are discrete, to explain them it is better to use discrete variable distribution like Poison or Negative binomial. This research tries to analyze numerical methods by using neural network approach and compare ...

A score test for overdispersion in zero-inflated poisson mixed regression model.

Count data with extra zeros are common in many medical applications. The zero-inflated Poisson (ZIP) regression model is useful to analyse such data. For hierarchical or correlated count data where the observations are either clustered or represent repeated outcomes from individual subjects, a class of ZIP mixed regression models may be appropriate. However, the ZIP parameter estimates can be s...
